What are Allergies?

10 to 30% of the world population suffers from allergies, and I am one of them. Many people think that you are born with your allergies, but that’s not always the case. Personally, I was born with allergies but, the majority of people actually develop allergies when they are around 40 years old. Allergies happen usually when a person's immune system goes haywire. Increasing exposure to certain things like dogs and cats can cause allergies.

Most of the time people have allergies that have mild symptoms, don’t even know that they have them. They over expose themselves to what they are allergic to and get worse symptomes. This is because being exposed to your allergen causes your body to overproduce histamine. Histamine is the chemical your body produces that causes you to have allergic reactions when you encounter your allergen.

Panic Attacks

By Antoinette Durand

Panic attacks can come out of the blue. They can start on a normal day at any time. You could get a feeling of acute fear. You could feel like you're having a heart attack or you're dying. Suddenly, after this you start to feel fine once more. Panic attacks can be caused by a fight or flight response when there isn't any danger. They can make you shake, sweat, nauseous, and give you a sense of unreality.

Recurring panic attacks is called panic disorder. Roughly 2.7% of adults suffered from panic disorder last year. It's more common than schizophrenia, bipolar, and OCD. Unfortunately, panic disorder can lead to agoraphobia, meaning they avoid public places in fear of a severe attack. You can be diagnosed with panic disorder if you suffer four attacks in four weeks.

The Million-Dollar Recipe

By Ember Hernandez

Here’s some shocking news: the “corndog” was NOT made in America.
A while ago, the father of a young woman named Hiroe Tanaka, had a genius idea. He knew he would pass away, so Tanaka decided to leave behind a recipe that took days to perfect. His daughter loved the Japanese street food, especially kushikatsu (fried bits on a stick), and decided to make something like that for his beloved daughter.

The simple recipe which told you how to cook the dish, actually saved the restaurant business from bankruptcy in 2008 to making TAnaka a multi-millionaire. Tanaka was promoted from a part-time employee to vice president of a company that shared her name. Tanaka Co. has earned more than eighty-two million dollars within her time.

I pay tribute to my father every day. It all happened because of the recipe.

The public loved this idea. People used second-hand kitchens to leave the prices down. In 2017, trades started getting higher and higher for this loved meal. Served at festivals, dinners, and maybe even your lunch tray at school, the shares gained 50% more in 2018.

KushiKatsu has more than 146 branches in their company. You can find at least one from Japan across Hawaii. (And, of course, Americans loved this idea too.) 40 more will be opened possibly this year.

It wasn't easy getting to the top. It actually took Tanaka a few years to find the recipe, found in a box of memos. Tanaka kushikatsu, first served at the family restaurant went viral. And after that, well, she’s now beyond rich. The next time you see this beloved snack (or meal), just thank Tanaka and her dad!
