Quarantine, Heat, and Protests

As much as I hate using the phase ‘perfect storm’, this truly is the perfect storm. Many stores are closed because of Quarantine, and even the protests. Now, the outdoors are ‘closed’ because of the terrible heat.

Advice Column

By Ember Hernandez

I’m not able to see my friends and I’m feeling alone. Is there any way that I can hang out with my friends?

-Little Lonely-

Well, I have some good news for you. We are in what I like to call “stage three” of quarantine. That means some shops will open up, and social distancing laws will loosen up some. I recommend you suggesting a place to your friends to hang out at, but still keep your distance. Just be careful if you do.

Father’s Day Gifts

By Antoinette Durand

I don’t know about you, but I always get a ‘gift panic’ when a holiday comes up. My dad is tricky to buy for.

Gift cards are usually safe. Best Buy, Top Golf, and Williams-Sonoma are good to get gift cards for.

A set of yard games could be fun. You could spend the day playing bags, then eat some grilled food.

Google’s Nest Mini is only thirty dollars. If your dad enjoys a high-tech life-style, this could be the right present.

If your dad is a coffee guy, buy him a stainless-steel coffee thermos. It will keep his coffee hot (or cold) much longer than a plastic one, and it’s conveniently to-go!

Cool sunglasses are a good pick for an outdoorsy dad. They can wear them while camping, grilling, hiking, or any other activity.

A Dino’s Dinner

By Antoinette Durand

NOTE: This information was found on cnn.com.

110 million years ago, a nodosaur ate its last meal before mummification.

A dinosaur’s stomach was opened up today and revealed. “Leaf fragments and other plant fossils were preserved down to the cells,” said David Greenwood, the study coauthor at Brandon University biologist and University of Saskatchewan adjunct professor.

The dinosaur was preserved in an ancient sea, and was found nine years ago. It has been kept in Alberta, Canada since 2017.

App Review: Adidas Runtastic

By Antoinette Durand

It’s hard to find an app for running, even harder to find one of this quality. The easy-to-use interface makes it a marvel of design. When you want to start running (or walking), press ‘START’. When you’re done, press, ‘FINISH’. Adidas’ running app can’t be beat. Afterwards, the app tells you the minute mile, calories burned, and how far you’ve gone. It’s even free! I highly recommend this app for the active runner.
