Movie Review:Knives Out
By Antoinette Durand
Enter the Thrombey family. Harlan Thrombey had his 85th birthday with his whole family. There's his daughter, Linda, who's always in control. She has a "I want to speak to the manager energy" according to GQ. Richard is Linda's husband. He had an affair with his wife that Harlan threatened to tell Linda. There's the "alt-right troll" according to Meg Thrombey, the troll being Jacob (roughly 16). Meg is a college kid who was just cut off because her m0m, Joni, "double dipped" in Harlan's money. She took Meg's tuition money and some extra for herself. Walt Thrombey, the youngest Thrombey sibling, helps with Harlan's publishing company. He is only somebody because his father's rich. Donna Thrombey, Walt's wife and Jacob's mother, isn't a great person herself. She really just leaches off the Thrombey money. Somehow, Harlan's mom is still alive. Harlan was 85 when he died, so just keep that in mind. We don't know much about her, but she's pretty senile now. Hugh "Ransom" Thrombey is not a great person. He, like the rest of his family, just take Harlan's money to have fun. He has other reasons for the viewer to dislike him, but I'll let you find that out for yourself.
Harlan Thrombey was found dead the day after his birthday party. His throat is cut. This is a true Who Dun It movie.
Knives Out is rated PG-13 because of violence and swearing. It's good for teens and adults, but you should think about the younger members of your family. It has the f-word, a middle finger, and the whole concept of murder. It's an incredible movie, though. I know the family tree is confusing, but if you watch the movie, it's easy to keep track of. You can find it on Amazon Prime Video.

This is not the type of dog with soft fur, loud barks, and the tendency to fetch a ball. This robotic dog, “Spot”, helps maintain social distancing.
The dog itself walks around Singapore, with speakers that blast out a recorded message telling people to keep their distance. “Spot” also has cameras monitoring crowd levels to stop the spread of COVID-19. A lot of countries are now turning to A.I. to help stop the pandemic once and for all. But this dog has a “bark” side, according to residents of Singapore.
“People are trying hard during this pandemic, we have to help… with science!” BBC newscaster says.
First of all, this “dog” does not have a head, making it look less than charming. When it blasts out the pre-recorded message, sometimes it scares the people around the public places. “ Ethics in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in action. Singapore deployed a Boston Dynamics’ Spot to ensure physical distancing in parks. People do not know how to handle this new participant in society.”, Scientist Dirk Fahland says.
“Spot” is a good dog, though. They will walk around hospitals, with a tablet strapped to it, so the patients of the hospitals can talk to the doctors and nurses without spreading further infection. The robotic dog might have some flaws, but they are paw-sitivly trying their best!
