Aurora IL declares a state of emergency. The mayor installed a curfew from 8:30 PM to 6:00 AM.
Police are clashing with protesters by the White House. There are cars on fire there. The police are spraying tear gas and pepper spray at the protesters.
President Donald Trump tweeted, “LAW AND ORDER!” and “Get tough Democrat Mayors and Governors. These people are ANARCHISTS. Call in our National Guard NOW. The World is watching and laughing at you and Sleepy Joe. Is this what America wants? NO!!!”
“Protests erupt for a sixth day across the US over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota,” according to CNN.com.
“At least 40 cities have imposed curfews and National Guard members have been activated in 15 states and Washington, DC,” according to CNN.com.
“Protesters say they want to see charges for all four police officers involved in the death of Floyd,” according to CNN.com.
“One former officer, who was seen in a video with his knee on Floyd's neck, was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter — but protesters and critics believe the charge isn't harsh enough,” according to CNN.com.
Last night marked the sixth night of protests over the death of George Floyd.
Looting is nationwide, even in DeKalb IL.
Violence and fires are in Aurora.
Protests Last Night
One former officer, who was seen in a video with his knee on Floyd's neck, was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter — but protesters and critics believe the charge isn't harsh enough.
"In my mind, this was a violation of humanity. This was a violation of the oath that the majority of the men and women that put this uniform on, this goes absolutely against it. This is contrary to what we believe in ... Again what occurred to me, it was an absolute truth it was wrong. Period," says Minneapolis Chief of Police. "I would say to the Floyd family that I am absolutely devastatingly sorry for their loss. If I could do anything to bring Mr. Floyd back, I would do that. I would move heaven and Earth to do that. So I'm very sorry.” This last statement was said directly to the Floyd family on CNN’s live channel. They started crying.
In Atlanta, Georgia, two officers were fired for using excessive force on a man and woman. They act was carried out on Saturday, and they were fired on Sunday.
Many cities have resorted to curfews.

“The city of Chicago closed the central business district and the Loop area to only employees whose businesses are located in the business and residents who live in the central business district,” according to CNN.
Even though the protests and riots are the main focus of many people, we have to remember George Floyd. He will never again walk this Earth. We have to think about how we can change things. Even though the riots are causing major news, the suffering continues. Pay attention to the protests because they are important, but also think of a way to make sure that death of innocent people stops. You are the change that we need. We need to fix this.
