Parts One and Two: A Jellyfish Journey
By Antoinette Durand
Imagine, peacefully, an enchanting creature that is drifting slowly in the current. This is a mysterious creature known as a jellyfish. From polyps to medusas, these animals are stunning.
Jellyfish; what a weird name for this animal because jellyfish aren’t fish! They are a type of invertebrate that’s related to sea anemones and coral. Jelly”fish” don’t even have hearts, lungs, or even brains. They don’t have bones either. Jellies eat through their mouths, but also dispose of waste through their mouths. You heard me right, jellyfish poop through their mouths! Some species also can glow in the dark. Many jellyfish have organs that give off light. This could help them distract predators and attract prey.

SpaceX Launch
By Antoinette Durand
NOTE: This information came from CNBC.com
It’s finally happening. After lots of trial and error, the next SpaceX launch will have people on it! It’s scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken will ‘blast off’ at 4:32 pm EDT at Kennedy Space Center (Florida).
Robodog
By Ember Hernandez
This is not the type of dog with soft fur, loud barks, and the tendency to fetch a ball. This robotic dog, “Spot”, helps maintain social distancing.
The dog itself walks around Singapore, with speakers that blast out a recorded message telling people to keep their distance. “Spot” also has cameras monitoring crowd levels to stop the spread of COVID-19. A lot of countries are now turning to A.I. to help stop the pandemic once and for all. But this dog has a “bark” side, according to residents of Singapore.
“People are trying hard during this pandemic, we have to help… with science!” BBC newscaster says.
First of all, this “dog” does not have a head, making it look less than charming. When it blasts out the pre-recorded message, sometimes it scares the people around the public places. “ Ethics in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in action. Singapore deployed a Boston Dynamics’ Spot to ensure physical distancing in parks. People do not know how to handle this new participant in society.”, Scientist Dirk Fahland says.
“Spot” is a good dog, though. They will walk around hospitals, with a tablet strapped to it, so the patients of the hospitals can talk to the doctors and nurses without spreading further infection. The robotic dog might have some flaws, but they are paw-sitivly trying their best!
